Turubari Horseback Ride tour measures 8.335 feet and last between 45 minutes and one hour, the Tour is a great alternative for those who like unite Nature with Adventure. During this trip, the bilingual guides will offer a general explanation about the flora and fauna that can be observed. It is important to mention that even children can participate in this tour as the horses are trained to offer the safety, peace of mind and comfort that you deserve.

NOTE: If you want to enjoy this tour consider wearing clothes that are comfortable and well-fitting, shorts are not recommended.

HORSEBACK RIDING SCHEDULE

The Park opens year round including holidays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The first horseback riding tour is at 9:00 a.m. and we run tours every hour until 3:00 p.m. The last tour ends at 4:00 p.m.

RECOMMENDATIONS

We suggest that visitors arrive early in the morning. They should bring comfortable footwear for the hikes, light clothing, hat, sun block and insect repellent. If guests elect to take the horseback riding tour they should use long pants, socks and closed-toed shoes. Guests are advised to drink water during the hikes.

CLIMATE

Turu Ba Ri is located in the driest part of the transition forest (dry to tropical humid). The climate is hot and humid. The average annual temperature is 30 Celsius/86 Fahrenheit, and during the months of May to October it rains a little, mainly in the afternoon.

1- How long does the tour take? The Horseback Riding Tour last from 45 to 60 minutes, it depends on how many people are horseback riding with your group..

2- What is the age limit for the tour? We take kids from 5 years on but keep in mind that kids from ages 5 till 10 will probably have to ride to one of its parents if they don’t have enough experience on horses.

3-How far are you from Caldera Port? The Park is about 35 minutes from Caldera port and only 45 minutes from Puntarenas Port.

5-How far is the horseback ride tour from Doubletree Puntarenas? The park is just 40 minutes away from Doubletree, on the highway that go back to San Jose, you just have to make a right to Turrubares once you arrive to Orotina.

6- What happens if it rains? We can horseback ride normally even with rain, therefore is up to the client if they want to get wet; this applies for when there is no lightning or raining very strong.

7- What does the tour include? Tame horses, special equipment, and bilingual guides if you need one and a ride by the Aerial Tram if you wish.

8- Do you take pictures? Yes, there is a company that has professional cameras and photographers and you can buy it once you finish the Tour. No video available yet.
