At Turu Ba Ri’s Zip line Canopy Tour, experienced Guides will start by dressing you with the best equipment available in the market, then they will give you a brief on security and safety, before taking you through this 4.910 feet long tour, spread out over 8 lines (cables), 2 hanging bridges, 14 platforms and 3 towers. It lasts from one hour to 90 minutes depending on how many people join the zip line tour.
We run Canopy tours every hour starting at 9:00 a.m. and we run the last at 4:00 p.m. (If weather permits it) At Turu Ba Ri’s Zip Line Canopy Tour there is another adventure option called Tarzan Swing, this is an exclusive add-on of the Zip line (must take the zip line in order to enjoy it). At our Zip line visitors have the option to perform this so called “Tarzan Swing” which is the highest Tarzan’s Swing available in Costa Rica*. The tour finishes inside the Park after running the last cable, which is the longest and measures 2.135 feet long. After this you are invited to aboard our modern Arial Tram in order to go back to Los Mangos Restaurant, same point you stared.
Note: Our Tarzan Swing is definitely not an adventure for amateurs, is actually an adrenaline rush perfect for real adventure lovers.
SAFETY
It is important to states that this adventure has been designed with safety in mind. As such, the guides are highly trained in this type of activity. Additionally, the zip line’s structure has a special kind of braking system which allows braking if the visitor has an inconvenient with it, without any mayor effort; the guides can do it for him/her. All of the above make the Turu Ba Ri’s Zip Lines tour the longest and safest one for adrenaline and adventure lovers. Visitors to Turu Ba Ri’s Canopy Tour will have an unforgettable experience under the strictest safety and quality guidelines.
The time it takes to do the zip line tour varies according to the number of people participating at the tour. We can handle groups of up to 20-30 persons every 30 minutes with in advance booking.

Do you need Transportation? We run our own day tours
Since we are tour operators, we can offer your canopy tour with transportation. We run tour packages including transportation and lunch from across the country such as San Jose and surrounding areas, Central Pacific (Jaco and Puntarenas) and for cruise passengers, we offers shore excursions packages from Caldera and Puntarenas docks.
RECOMMENDATIONS
We suggest that visitors arrive early in the morning. They should bring comfortable footwear for the hikes, light clothing, hat, sun block and insect repellent. If guests elect to take the horseback riding tour they should use long pants, socks and closed-toed shoes. Guests are advised to drink water during the hikes.
CLIMATE
Turu Ba Ri is located in the driest part of the transition forest (dry to tropical humid). The climate is hot and humid. The average annual temperature is 30 Celsius/86 Fahrenheit, and during the months of May to October it rains a little, mainly in the afternoon.
SCHEDULE
TuruBaRi Park opens year round including holidays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The first tour is at 9:00 a.m. and it runs Canopy Tours every hour until 4:00 p.m. (if weather permitting) the last tour ends at 5:00 p.m.

Is Canopy Tour safe? Yes! It’s safe and fun for nearly everyone!
Is anyone able to ride the zip lines? There are few modest limitations on who can fully enjoy the zip lining experience. The basic criteria is you must be over the age of 5, in generally good health, and capable of learning the basics of safe riding. The Turu Ba Ri Canopy Staff will assess each rider and assure they are of the proper physical demeanor to assure safety along with fun.
Why might some people not be cut out for the Canopy Tour? Ultimately, the Canopy Tour is a unique and challenging adventure, not an amusement park ride. Everyone’s experience will be different, and there is a very mild element of risk that accompanies the adrenaline rush! A zip line tour can be extremely empowering, enabling individuals to push their limits and conquer fears of things like heights, speed, etc.
Will I get trained to assure my safety before I get to ride? Absolutely! It is a requirement that every participant goes through the Canopy Tour briefing. You’ll go through the course with a Turu Ba Ri Canopy staff, and at the end will fully understand safety procedures, how to use your riding pulley, safe speed control and braking, and much more.
Will I be allowed to ride the zip lines by myself? You’ll be riding solo, but at each point during your tour you’ll be accompanied by one of Turu Ba Ri’s seasoned Canopy guides, assuring your safety throughout the tour. The Canopy guides are not only trained in safe and exciting riding techniques, but are also there to assure you get the most fun out of the entire canopy experience, so you’ll be in very good hands!
How long does the tour take? The Canopy Tour last from 60 to 90 minutes, it depends on how many people are zip lining together.
What is the age limit for the tour? We take kids from 5 years on but keep in mind that kids from ages 5 till 10 will have to go with a guide most of the zip lines. This Canopy is consider one of the best and safe for kids.
How far your Canopy Tour from Puntarenas Port? The Park is about 45 minutes from Puntarenas port and only 35 minutes from Caldera Port.

How far is your Canopy Tour from Los Sueños Marriott? The park is just 40 minutes away from Los Sueños, on the highway that go back to San Jose, you just have to make a right to Turrubares once you arrive to Orotina.
Is this Canopy Tour near San Jose, Costa Rica? The park is just 30 minutes away from San Jose, 10 minutes off route 27, the highway that goes to Puntarenas.
What happens if I start the tour and don’t want to continue? We have emergency evacuation trails at every platform where you can stop and walk back where the Canopy Tour begins.
What happens if it rains? We can run the Canopy Tour normally even with rain because we have a special braking system, therefore is up to the client if they want to get wet; this applies for when there is no lightning or raining very strong.
Do we see wild life on the tour? Yes the tour is actually very good for bird watching but we cannot guarantee that you will see them, the best time is early in the morning, and the most common things to see are Scarlet Macaws, Toucans and White Faced Monkeys.
What does the tour include? The special equipment, Bilingual Guides, 8 Cables, last one measuring 1/2 a mile, 16 Platforms and the exit by the Aerial Tram.
Do you take pictures? Yes, there is a company that has professional cameras and photographers and you can buy it once you finish the Canopy Tour. No video available yet. The Canopy Tour pictures are place on our website the next day of visit
Turu Ba Ri Canopy Tour Requirements:
- Participants must be at least 5 years old. No unattended children.
- Certain physical size requirements will be gauged by the Turu Ba Ri staff prior to issuing approval for the Canopy Tour (height, weight, etc.)
- Each participant must sign a release and anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian present to sign their release form. Current photo ID or driver’s license required.
- Canopy riders must in be in reasonably good health, able to climb stairs, etc.
- Closed toe shoes only allowed on the course (no sandals, etc.).
- Helmets must be worn at all times.
- Long hair must be pulled back in a pony tail.
- Supplied safety equipment (harnesses, helmets, gloves) must be worn at all times.
- Riders must successfully complete the Canopy Tour briefing and sign their waiver before ascending.
- Riders must follow directions of the Turu Ba Ri staff and accompanying Turu Ba Ri Canopy guides at all times.
Costa Rica Canopy Tour is NOT recommended for those who are…
- Pregnant
- Recovering from a recent surgery or serious illness.
- On some types of medication (that can cause vertigo, etc.)
- Drinking alcohol of any kind. (Turu Ba RI reserves the right to refuse service to those who appear intoxicated in any way)
- Dealing with recurring back problems.
- Truly height-phobic.
